For just a moment, she forgets about the lands.
Her mind allows her to become separate from its troublesome ways.
She wanders through the forest and her worries are at a loss.
Without them, she has no reason to be the person she has been.
The further she ventures away from the place she knew, the closer the sea becomes.
It's voice bribes her and tells her:
" Come with me; come with me. Be like the waves; be free ."
It was a familiar voice that she had once known.
She'd never let it bother her before,
but now she had to know,
for her feet had been grounded in a sand that had begun to sink.
This is exactly what led her to the forest..
The inability of unearthing the missing link.
Her feet drew her closer as her cautiousness began to fade in the distance. She became engulfed with the music of the ever bragging wave.
She became enamored with its movement as it called to her:
"Come play, come play"
She'd observed it's formation until it met it's break.
She couldn't help but wonder...
"How lovely would it be, to be of one like the wave?"
So she dove into water without further adieu.
She was enticed by the cunning nature that is ignored by few.
The water was well above her head as she had never taken the time to consider the depth of the sea.
But she did what she desired and never did plea.
Her soul glided smoothly into the unknown as the water flowed through her hair.
Her body became immersed in a substance of regret that was mistaken as a dare.
The lands that once grounded her had become foreign, a thing of the past.
Her body felt lighter as the coolness of the sea meshed
with the warmth of her cheeks.
It had disguised a fire that she claimed as a defeat.
It was so overwhelming, for she just wanted to see. So she opened her eyes, to gaze into whats underneath.
But it was not as clear as she had envisioned.
The objects were visible but the clarity lessened to none but a blur.
It was at that moment that reality coincided with what was once dreamed.
Her lungs filled with water and she lost ability to breathe.
As she gasp for air, she wandered how she could sink so deep. But it was because she had lost sight of the one who had once entrenched her mind into land above.
She reached for air, reaching for anything that would bring her back to the surface.
But she was lost in the fluidity that once gave her mobility.
And she could not grasp a thing... She had left her attachments so she could be free.
This fight would not be given up on easily....for even the waves crash after growing steadily.
So she let the current encapsulate her reasoning, she just wanted to be able to breathe
And finally..
She had made it!
The surface had been waiting for her return.
She was never forgotten as once was feared.
She had to follow the bubbles to come back to what's dear. And she became a wave and became controlled But she knew that all waves would one day crash at shore.
So she watched her fate as it became closer and closer. She saw a familiar figure...yelling...
"Come with me, come with me! You are a wave, I want you to be free."
That instance she became filled with sadness..for she had been blind all along.
She had mistaken confusion with the need for time.
She then crashed ashore as she washed over his feet.
For his words were too soon for her contagious weep. His words swept confusion over the world she had come to accept.
It was then she noticed that her body was soaking wet.
She dripped with shame, as she could never explain
The journey she had taken, in hopes of ending her pain.
She never would have jumped if only sooner his heart had awakened.
But he never was aware that she had been breaking..
Into pieces
That
Would
Never
Be whole again.
